Last.fm and YouTube
To upload our video recording onto my blog it was as striaght forward as i thought it would be. In stead i had to join a website called http://www.last.fm/. This site allows up to upload your music etc. I had to become a member of the website and then try and work out how to upload music. I have also joined YouTube to see whether i would be able to upload my auido interview on that website.

Cross Media Advertising-Horizontal Integration
Targeting a range of audiences and eliminating competition. For example if a film company was producing a film it could get together with a music company if wanting one of their songs within which then would more than likely help the music company then to sell more albums etc. The film company and the music company would be helping each other to advertis. In our case it will be like us producing a poster and magzine to advertise our trailer.

IPC-Media Audiences
IPC Media produces over 85 iconic media brands, with print brands alone reaching almost two thirds of UK women and 44% of UK men –almost 27 million UK adults – while online brands collectively reach 20 million users every month.
IPC's diverse print and digital portfolio offers something for everyone, with a focus on three core audiences: men, mass market women and upmarket women.
Men's portfolio (IPC Inspire) comprises a wealth of leisure brands including Country Life, Horse & Hound, Rugby World and Decanter, as well as lifestyle brands including Nuts, Mousebreaker and NME. Today’s young and affluent men are discerning, media-elusive individuals who take their media on their own terms, both by content and delivery platform.
IPC Media is a leading content provider for today’s man. Operating across multiple platforms and experiential events IPCs iconic brands truly connect with young men offering what they want, when they want it and provide advertisers with multiple contact points to connect with and influence, the 18-34 year old male.
Mass market women's division (IPC Connect) comprises famous women's weeklies including Look, Now, Chat and Woman; TV entertainment brands including What's on TV, TVTimes and TV & Satellite Week and, online, the goodtoknow network. Most of the womens division consists of mums, there are seen to be constantly juggling tasks. Mothers take pleasure in occasional ‘me’ time, during which relaxing with a favourite magazine or visiting an inspirational website is a ‘must-do’.
IPC Media is the UK’s leading consumer publisher for mass market mothers. Their weekly magazines and websites are packed with inspiration, entertainment, information, advice, celebrity and real-life appealing to mums (and women) of all ages and attitudes.
Advertisers access these powerful communication platforms predominantly through IPC Weeklies, which represents IPC Connect [women’s weeklies] and IPX TX [television titles] in print and online.
Upmarket women's division (IPC Southbank) comprises luxury fashion brands including Marie Claire and InStyle, lifestyle brands including woman&home and essentials and home interest brands including Ideal Home, Livingetc and housetohome. Their magazines contain high quality imagery and high quality editorial - Fashion and Beauty trends and advice, Home Styling, Celebrity, Environment, Education, Business and Real World news.
Delivered to their readers through glossy magazines and exciting websites, IPC Media provides advertisers with wonderful opportunities to associate with famous media brands and connect with millions of affluent, aspirational and inspirational women. My group and I feel that our audience is more likely to be mass market women and upmarket women, as we feel they will connect with the film more and find it more appealing than men. Also, if our poster or magazine cover was to be advertised, we think that it could appear in a magazine like Look, Now, InStyle etc.
My group and I didn't think it would be appropriate for our poster or magazine cover to appear in a men's magazine like Nuts or NME.

New media
We will be using iMovie to edit out teaser trailer. iMovie allows you to import footage from both digital camcorders and still cameras with ease. You can gather, view and edit and also it allows you to add music, sound effects, themes, menus, titles, transitions and other effects to yur film. It allows you to save your edited film/films onto DVD,CD or as a file on the hard drive itself. Also, it allows you to share your films on the iternet through services such as YouTube and personal websites.
We will also be using Photoshop to edit or create our poster and magazine. It is embraced by millions of graphic artists, print designs, visual communicators and also just regular people. Photoshop edits and creates magazines, posters, book coves, pictures and brochures.
The final new media we will be using will be our blogs which we will put all of our coursework onto.
Questionnaire-Film magazine front cover
We used video for this questionnaire and have give an example.
We then produced the rest of the results in graphs as shown below...
1) Are you male or female?

2)What is your age?

3)Do you read film magazines?

4)Do you think the front cover of a magazine makes you want to read it?

5)Do you think bright colours and bold text makes a magazine stand out?

6)If you see a film advertised in a magazine does it make you want to see it?

7)Do you like front covers that give alot away about whats inside or what its about?

In conclusion, this questionnaire shows that the audience find bold writing and bright colours attracts them, they think that the front cover of a magazine makes them decide whether they want to read it or not and also that just by advertising a film in a magazine it doesn't always make them want to watch it. The majority of people read film magazines and generally like the front cover to let them know what is happening inside the magazine.

Iron man 2
Here is the front cover of Empire Magazine. In this issue it is rather clear to us what they are trying to attract our attention towards, 'Iron Man 2'. The magazine has a big image on the fnt of Iron Man himself, this immediantly attracts the audience. Empires title matches the flash of light in the middle of the Iron mans suit, the bright 'light' effect used would catch the audiences eye to look at the magzine and attract their attention. Iron Man 2 would also catch attention due to it being in bold block letters. Once looking at the magazine the smaller writing underneath the Iron Man title would make its reader want to see/read more as they would want to see whether the magazine tells you about the 'New Suit' or the 'New Enemies'.Sherlock magazine cover
Here is the front cover of 'Empire' magazine. This issue is advertising the new 'Sherlock Holmes'. The cover itself would clearly stand out to its audience due to bold writing and large images. The cover is very clear to its audience what this particular issue is promoting and what film the issue is going to tell you about inside. The small print also gives you inside information and would make you want to read in as it makes you curious about Robert Downey Jr and the part that he is playing. The audience can see the iconic character Sherlock Holmes, played by Robert Downey Jr.
Introduction for film magazine cover
For the final part of the brief me and my group have chosen, we have got to produce a magazine cover with our film been advertised on the front. So we can do this we are now going to do primary and secondary reasearch involvng empire magzines.
Alice In Wonderland-Poster

Here are three posters for the film 'Alice In Wonderland'. All three of these posters have great techniques used within. On your left you have a poster of the 'Queen of hearts' this poster has tells you striaght away who the women( The Queen of hearts) on the poster is meant to be, they have done this by covering the main background in hearts. The poster is very simple as they have only used one character on the front but even though from looking at the poster you can see what it is advertising. This is the same as the poster on the right, 'The Mad Hatter'. By using bold colours on each they stand out and their large images also help them to be noticed. However, the poster in the middle is slightly different, you can still see clearly that it is 'Alice in wonderland' but this poster is not as bright but includes more images. By the use of images and how they have been placed onto the poster, it stands out as you want to look at it to see who/what characters are on it. All three of the posters stand out in their own ways by colour, images and bold writing been used. They all attract their audience and stand out.
Sherlock Holmes-Poster

This is a poster advertising the new 'Sherlock Holmes' films. Without telling/showing you to much the poster lets you know who the main character is by using a large image and big bold writing to stand out to its audience. It has the director boldly written at the top of the poster and at the bottom it let's you know when the film is being released.By using large images, large writing and colours they attract attention and would catch he audiences eye. The poster keeps you thinking but striaght away you know which film it is advertising.
Introduction to film poster
For the second part of our coursework for our brief we have to create a poster that will advertise our film. I am now going to do research and show te results to go with this.

Exsisting Target Audiences
Due to our questionnaire results, we will be creating a teaser trailer with the genre being Drama. I have researched other films with the same genre and found out who their target audiences are.
My Sisters Keeper:-
I have seen trailers, posters and the filmitself. After watching this film i think that the target audience is defiantly females aged 14+. This is due to it involving two young girls and a women that sisters,Mother and Grandmothers could relate to if ever in that poistion. It relates to real life circumstances and gives others the chance to see this kind of real life situation. Also, all women love a tear jerker and this film is guaranteed!

The Lovely Bones:-
This film isn't actually out yet, it is due out this February, however after seeing many trailers and reading the book i think it is rather clear who the target audience are. I would say the target audience are the younger generation, perhapes young teenagers onwards.I think this as been young myself and enjoying the book so much and watching the trailers which are making me more and more anxious to watch the film itself! Young charactes are also in this film which im sure many teenagers will be able t feel that the can relate to in one way or another.

Alice In Wonderland-Teaser trailer
This is a teaser trailer to 'Alice in wonderland'. Alice in wonderland is already a well known film/book worldwide. Straight away we are shown that it is a Disney film which the majority of people have seen one of their films before. This teaser trailer would defiantly appeal to a wide audience, just from the teaser trailer itself you can see that there are well-known actors within such as Johnny Depp, this would want to make you watch already due to his excellent acting in other films such as 'Pirates of the Caribbean'. The music added throughout the trailer adds a kind of excitement to the film before even watching it. All the famous well-known characters such as, Alice, The Cheshire Cat and the Mad Hatter are shown during the trailer which shows to the audience that it still follows the original classical version but modernised. The teaser trailer is 1 minute 36 seconds long and as a public viewer i found it bought excitement and childhood memories throughout.
Inception
This is the teaser trailer for 'Inception'. From watching this trailer I found that it gave you just enough information without giving away the film itself. It lets you know who the main character is, (Leonardo Dicaprio) by letting you know that there are big actors in the film it makes you want to watch it due to them playing good parts in previous films. The teaser trailer shows you that the film is going to be action packed without telling you why and where. By letting you know that it is the same director as 'The dark night' which was a big selling film itself, already gives you the impression that 'Inception' is going to be just as good and big. By putting short phrases such as, 'Your mind' it makes you think and makes you more anxious to want to see the film as you want to find out more and want to find out what is meant by these short phrases. Finally, the teaser trailer finishes by letting you know when you can go and see the film itself which in this case is 'Summer 2010'.
Information and what the role of a teaser trailer is...
A teaser trailer is a short trailer that advertises an upcoming film. They usually include certain shots of a film that they themselves think are going to appeal to their target audience. Whether it be a funny, action or adventurous film the most appealing parts will be picked out and put together to attract attention. This will be done cleverly enough to make you want to watch the film itself but not tell you the complete plot of what happens throughout. A teaser trailer is on average 1 minute long. Teaser trailers are released a good time before the film due to this gives time for there to be a larger audience wanting to see the film itself.
Questionnaire-Genre
My group and i have decided to create a questionnaire. We have asked 30 people to fill out the questionnaire which will then help us to find out other peoples opinion on genre and what the prefered genre actually is. By finding this information out we will then be able to make sure that out teaser trailer lives upto its expectation and we will be able to satisfy a wide audience.

In conclusion to our questionnaire, we have found out that the majority of people watch films at both the cinema and at home. They think that teaser trailers do make you want to watch the film itself and think that a teaser trailer should be around 30seconds-1minute long.. The preferred genre was drama. Due to our results from out questionnaire we now have the chance to produce a teaser trailer with drama been its genre, now hopefully we can create a product that appeals to a wide audience.

Introduction
For our product my group and i have decided to do brief two, the 'Promotional package for a new film'. This will involve us creating a teaser trailer. We will also have to create a poster for the film and also, a film magazine front cover featuring our film. Some of our work will be created individually as well as group work. For all three we will start by doing primary and secondary research and find out what genre we are going to choose to do.
